Hello from the Bureau with your weekly weather wrap from today, Sunday the 31st of August.
Taking a quick look around the weekend so far. The vigorous cold front that brought the wild weather to the south-east, cleared into the Tasman Sea, but left behind very cold air in its wake and widespread morning frost through inland parts this morning.
Otherwise generally clear and settled weather for the remainder of the country, with a south-easterly dry surge bringing gusty winds through the interior. For the remainder of today, hit and miss showers near and south of the divide, mainly about the windward slopes and coast.
Remaining dry and settled out west and through the interior, with showers developing about the southern Queensland coast. On Monday, morning frost patches for inland parts of the east, unwelcomed for winter grain crops, with showers for the south-east of Queensland, and a chance for north-east New South Wales. Onshore winds bringing coastal showers for the south-east, but generally dry and clear elsewhere, apart from a shower or two about the far south-west.
For Tuesday, morning frost for the south-east, and a few onshore showers to the east coast, dry clear and sunny for much of the remainder, but showers increasing for Tasmania later.
On Wednesday, the cold front brings a chance of showers to southern Victoria, while that dry spell out west comes to an end as that pair of lows draw moisture and showers inland.
On Thursday, a cold front drags the chance of showers eastwards into South Australia, with gusty north-westerly winds on the leading edge. Onshore showers possible for Queensland's central and southern coasts and also for Tasmania.
On Friday tropical humidity increases, a potential cloud band for the east, and a strong front for the west.
And that's it for our weekly weather wrap. We'll see you again next time, bye for now.
