Hello from the Bureau. Let's take a look at the weather around the country for Friday the 3rd of October. And it's going to be bright, clear and sunny for most of the country on Friday. Still a few showers down in the south east across Tasmania, Victoria, maybe parts of southern New South Wales, but they are all clearing up as the day progresses. Elsewhere, not much rain to look at, a little bit of shower and storm activity across parts of the tropics, and it's sunny and hot in between.

Including across Queensland. Beautiful blue skies here for Friday. Dry and sunny everywhere except maybe the very far northern tip of the Cape York Peninsula. There is going to be a bit of a breeze around in the morning, much like we saw on Thursday, but that wind will slowly die out as the day goes on. Temperatures are a little cooler than Thursday, but still fairly warm. High 20s down in the south east, mid 30s across the east coast and mid 30s through those western districts too.

New South Wales also joins the party with clear blue skies overhead, except down in the southern mountains and Snowies, could be a few showers there, mostly west of Canberra. A little bit of a breeze here, but nothing too strong and it will also be weakening off as the day progresses. High temperatures, see 24 degrees arrive in Sydney, 24 in Newcastle, mid to upper 20s further north and out to the west.

A slightly different feel to the day down in Victoria. It's a lot cloudier here, it's a bit cooler. That wind is chilly coming up from the south west. There will be some showers as well, particularly through the morning and early afternoon before those showers should dissipate before the end of the day. That wet weather that does come through is fairly fleeting and light, so not a lot of rain in any one location, just some brief stints of showery weather in the south. Temperatures are near seasonal here. 19 degrees in Melbourne. That's pretty representative of most of Victoria, but it is warmer up in the Mallee and Wimmera in the north west. But worth noting that these temperatures are going to shoot up quite a lot as we head into the weekend.

Tasmania starts off with some cool winds, cloudy skies, showers for the west and possibly even a little bit of snow up in the mountains. All of that is really through the morning and it's clearing up, brightening up and after lunch actually mostly sunny weather sitting in across the state, looking quite nice and bright for the afternoon. Temperatures near average 16 for Hobart, but again here it's going to be warming up quite a lot come the weekend.

For South Australia, there's a bit of early morning cloud across the south east, and maybe even a morning shower through Mount Gambier, but that all melts away fairly fast and it will become bright, clear and sunny statewide for the second half of the day. Temperatures in the morning are actually going to be fairly chilly, single digits for most areas, but the daytime high temperatures coming through in the afternoon are going to be rather warm with the arrival of northerly winds. And take a look at Ceduna. That's a good example. Starting off at a cool 4 degrees before warming up to 29 through the second half of the day.

Hot and sunny for much of Western Australia. Take a look at Kalgoorlie-Boulder, 37 degrees as the maximum temperature there. There will be a bit of cloud around the south western corner, and a few showers south of Perth, with just the slight chance of a shower for Perth itself. All the rain is fairly light. Across the north western corner of the country, through the Pilbara and Gascoyne, we do expect some cloud to build overhead and that's going to come in ahead of some rain, which is going to move into that area during Saturday.

And finally across the tropical north, hot temperatures continue, humidity is building, starting to feel more and more like those summertime months. There will be some showers and possible storms around the western Top End and the Kimberley in WA, as well as down through some central parts of the northern interior. Temperatures touching 40 degrees for some areas.

That's all I've got for you for today, but you can always find the latest weather info at the Bureau's website and app. Thanks for watching and have a lovely day.
